Saluki General Appearance:

The Saluki is tall, skinny dog weighing in between 40 and 60 pounds and standing at 27.6 inches from the withers. As a member of the sighthound breed, they have similar characteristics as the Greyhound, including a very narrow rump. The head is also long and narrow, with long, silky ears. Although they may have some feathering on the long, curved tail and ears, the body coat is typically short. Their coat can range in color from white to black.

Saluki Temperament:

The Saluki is typically aloof and independent, with a reputation of being hard to train. They have a high prey drive and are known to chase smaller animals at a lightning pace that is almost impossible to catch up with! The Saluki suffers from boredom easily, so they’re unsuitable pets to be left alone for long periods of time.

Saluki Fun Fact:

The Saluki is one of the fastest dog breeds in the world. The Guinness Book of Records declares the breed as the fastest dog, even outpacing the Greyhound.
