Neapolitan Mastiff General Appearance:

Large, powerful, and intimidating, the Neapolitan Mastiff is renowned for their size. These dogs stand between 24 to 31 inches tall and weigh between 110 to 155 pounds. They’re covered by loose skin, which creates wrinkles, folds, and the breed’s distinctive jowls. The Neapolitan Mastiff is a muscular dog with a short, dense coat, which can be black, blue, mahogany, or tawny.

Neapolitan Mastiff Temperament:

The Neapolitan Mastiff is an excellent guard dog because of their strong protective instincts. They love to be with their family, and they are fiercely intelligent — but they are naturally wary of strangers, even with plenty of socialization. Train and socialize your Neapolitan Mastiff puppies so they are used to meeting new people.

Because of their low activity level and their tendency to become aggressive toward unfamiliar dogs, the Neapolitan Mastiff is happiest in a home with a large yard and a tall fence. But don’t leave them outside for too long in high heat — this breed is sensitive to extreme temperatures.
