Ibizan Hound Appearance

Ibizan Hounds have a limber, graceful presence and a wonderful, springy gait. Even though they are strong, they do not look muscular. Their most prominent feature is their large, upright ears that are broad at the base. Their eyes are amber, and their heads are long and elegant. Their long legs are often inspire comparisons to deer. Their coats are either long and wiry or (more commonly) short and smooth. Due to their long legs, they can jump great heights while standing still.

Ibizan Hound Temperament

These dogs are considered extremely intelligent, and they love getting into antics that delight most people. If properly trained, they can learn tricks and obedience skills very quickly. If improperly trained, they will show their fierce independence and stubborn streak.

Ibizan Hounds are great around adults and children alike, as well as other dogs. They are very athletic, needing a great deal of daily exercise to keep them happy. Ibizan Hounds are sweet, affectionate dogs, but do not do well in kennels.
