Harrier Appearance

The Harrier is a member of the hound family, and they resemble a large Beagle or smaller variety of the English Foxhound. They have very short coats and drooping ears, and they come in a variety of colors. The most commonly recognized coats are the black, brown, and white varieties. Their eye coloring is either hazel or brown. They are muscular and large boned, and they have incredible strength and stamina. Their heads are broad with a square muzzle.

Harrier Temperament

Harrier dogs are happy, sweet, and great with children. They are very active, and because they enjoy exploring during walks, they should always be on a leash. Unless they have been raised with them, Harriers don't normally get along well with other animals besides dogs.

Harrier Fun Fact

The first pack of Harriers were bred to be hunting dogs in the 13th century by Sir Elias de Midhope.
