Bernese Mountain Dog Appearance

The Bernese Mountain Dog, sometimes called a “Berner,” is a large breed. They weigh between 75 and 100 pounds and can be as tall as 27 inches. Their coat is tricolored. They are primarily black, with rust coloring around their mouth, legs, and above their eyes, and white on their paws and chest. They have a thick double coat, shed frequently, and require frequent brushing.

Bernese Mountain Dog Temperament

Bernese Mountain Dogs are good natured and confident, neither particularly aggressive or too shy. They are patient around children and very affectionate towards their family. Owners should be prepared to give this bulky dog plenty of space to move around in. However, while they can show high levels of energy, it's usually short lived: Berners have famously low stamina.

Bernese Mountain Dog Fun Fact
