Bernedoodle Dog Breed Info & Pictures

Bernedoodles are a mix between the hypoallergenic Poodle and the sturdy Bernese Mountain Dog. Bernedoodle puppies come in three sizes, as do Poodles. The Standard Bernedoodle weighs approximately 50 lbs and stands at 23 - 29 inches at the withers. The Mini Bernedoodle ranges from 25 - 49 lbs and stands at 18 - 22 inches. The Tiny Bernedoodle weighs 10 - 24 lbs and is 12 - 17 inches at the shoulder. Like the Poodle, Bernedoodles are hypoallergenic with a wavy and low to non-shedding coat. Bernedoodles inherited their coloring from the Bernese Mountain Dog. Commonly, they are tri-colored in black, tan, and white, although brindle combinations are not unusual. With a black button nose and deep loving eyes, the Bernedoodle is a beautiful dog. To find Bernedoodle puppies for sale, please see our breeder page.

The Bernedoodle has inherited the best traits of each parent....

Bernedoodle puppies have the keen intelligence of the Poodle, mixed with the affectionate and goofy nature of the Bernese Mountain Dog. Bernedoodles are perfect pets for the whole family, from children to seniors. Bernedoodles are noted for being socially adaptable. Theyre happy to join you on a hiking adventure, but are just as content to cuddle on the couch. Like any dog, a Bernedoodle needs early socialization and training to avoid some of the pitfalls of a stubborn personality, which can be a trait of both the Poodle and the Bernese Mountain Dog. Playful and loving, a Bernedoodle will do best in an active family who wants to include their dog in family activities.

Caring For a Bernedoodle

The Bernedoodle has a low-maintenance coat....

As no dog is truly hypoallergenic, the Bernedoodle is more accurately described as allergy-friendly as they shed little to no fur or dander. For busy households, a non-shedding dog can take a big load out of housework. Bernedoodles have a moderate activity level, and three half-an-hour walks per day is enough to keep them happy.
